Brock Purdy will be out of uniform today when the 49ers host the Los Angeles Rams at Levi’s Stadium.
Listed as questionable and out for more than a week, Purdy will also watch from the sidelines as he slowly recovers from a turf toe sprain. He will be joined by Alfred Collins, a rookie defense, which included a big performance in the 49ers’ 26-23 win over the Rams on Oct. 2.
Collins, already playing with a shoulder dislocation, was sidelined with a hip injury.

Players listed as questionable Friday are good to go winter linebacker dee (knee), Guabacker Tatum Bethone (Guard Ben Bartch (Ankle), and defense) and Deflensent End Keion white (ankle) and defensive end white.
According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay, the 49ers decided last week that Purdy would not play in a backup role and that his return would go straight to starting. Whether that will be in Week 11 on the road against the Arizona Cardinals will depend on the week of practice leading up to the game.

Kyle Shanahan’s father Mike Shanahan is one of 9 semifinalists to be elected as a coach in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, class of 2026, but it will be a tough cut to continue the competition.
Kyle Shanahan won two best bowls with the Denver Broncos (1997-98) and served as the head coach of the Los Angeles Raiders and Washington. He was the offensive coordinator under George Seaifert for the 49ers when they won their last bowl following the 1994 season.
SeiFert is also a candidate, as is Mike Holmgren, the 49ers’ offensive coordinator under Bill Walsh from San Jose’s Oak Grove High who went on to win the Super Bay Packers and coach Seattle to the AFC Championship.
Others are Bill Belichick, Tom Coughlin, Dan Reeves, Marty Schollneimer, Chuck Knox, Buddy Parker and Bill Arnsparger.
It is a loaded field.
“He’s someone who obviously I think should be there, said Kyle Shanahan.” I think that is out of the question. I know there are many other guys who deserve that too. I believe it is a matter of time, hopefully sooner rather than later. But yes, it can mean a lot. “
