Passing Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on growing speculation linking Manchester United with Endrick, the highly-rated Real Madrid forward.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano made it clear that he is not interested in signing the 19-year-old Brazilian and revealed that Olympique Lyon are in advanced talks to secure the striker on loan this summer.
Despite being one of the most promising young players in world football, Endrick has struggled to break away from Real Madrid.
The girl, who was expected to follow in the footsteps of Vinícius júnior and Rodrygo, has found minutes difficult to come under Xabi Alonso, making only one La Liga appearance so far.
Man United are not in the race to sign Endrick
Romano explained that while rumors have been circulating linking Manchester United and Aston Villa with a possible Swoop, there is “nothing true” about those claims.
Instead, he revealed that Lyon was pushing hard to complete the deal, with Endrick himself tripping over the move.
“Olympique Lyon pressed hard to close this deal with Real Madrid immediately because they feel that Errick wants to join them,” said Romano.
“The rumor about Manchester United, it’s not true. The rumor about Aston Villa, it’s not true. I said it’s the end of Olympique Lyon.”
The proposed loan agreement seems to make perfect sense to all parties. Lyon are desperate to strengthen after a difficult start to their Ligue 1 campaign, and Endrick is determined to get regular game time to continue his development and strengthen his claim for Brazil’s 2026 squad.
Romano added that several factors convinced Endrick that Lyon was the right move.
The Club’s Portuguese manager offers an easy change of language, while the connection to Karim Benzelema, one of the real great strikers of Madrid and Lyon Academy Cruide, has made the French side where he is going.
The journalist also confirmed that the negotiations between Lyon and Real Madrid are well underway, with both parties encouraging them to complete the transfer as soon as possible rather than waiting until the last days of the window.
Endrick is expected to join Lyon
Romano said:
“Now Olympique Lyon and Real Madrid are discussing the terms of this loan, but my expectation is that this special story with Olympique Lyon will soon become a reality.
“So, we completely manage Olympique Lyon, and they are in front of English clubs for the Brazilian striker to get him on loan.”
With talks progressing rapidly, Lyn may soon be celebrating the arrival of the once frustrated player as Brazil’s next big superstar and abroad, the United man may need to look for another player in the January transfer window.
