Air Force (3-6, 2-4 MW) Put the game on its final drive. The Falcons ran a field goal that ate up the game clock, scoring a 33-yard field goal with 31 seconds left to do away with SJSU’s hopes.
Air Force won the battle 35:51 to 23:34, allowing the Falcons to record their second victory in their last eight games.
After scoring six points in the first half, Spartans running back Steve Chavez-Soto scored an 8-yard touchdown and kicker Mathias Brown pulled SJSU within 16-13 early in the fourth quarter.
But in the end, it was a first half full of individual mistakes that made up for the much-needed victory.
