Los Angeles Clippers guard Bradley Beal has a strain on his groin and will undergo offseason surgery, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Wednesday.

Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein of Critical Sports, told Charania that the former first baseman will have a “full and complete” recovery after the surgery.
“We met with a lot of doctors and experts around the country in collaboration with all the previous medical staff in the last few days, and they came to a decision of no approval,” Bartelstein told Charania.
Beal left Saturday’s game against the Phoenix Suns in the first half because of hip pain. Head coach Tyronnen Lue told reporters Monday that Beal will likely miss several games.

According to Kellan Olson of arizonasports.com, Beal said Friday in Phoenix that he is dealing with an unspecified injury from last season, when he played for the Suns.
Beal, 32, has played in just six games (all starts) with snaps this season. He is at a career high of 8.2 points, 1.7 assists, and 20.2 minutes in those contests with a shooting line of 37.5 / 36.8 / 75.
The Clippers are 1-3 without Beal this season.
Beal signed a two-year, $11 billion deal
During the Offseason, the sun completed the shopping effort by using the arrangements to receive $ 99 million in debts owed by the remaining three stars over the next five years.
After clearing waivers, Beal signed a one-year, $11 million contract with the Clippers. His deal includes a 15% trade bonus and a $5.62 Million option for 2026-27.
Bartelstein reportedly told Alex Schiffer of the games front office in July that his client is interested in signing a long-term contract with clips after the 2025-26 season.
If a long-term contract isn’t reached, the 14-year veteran could be one of the top players available in free agency next summer.
“Brad didn’t want to go somewhere where he could be in one year or he was going to go somewhere where they got to dig a year’s worth of competition, and then move on to another place,” Bartelstein told Schiffer.
“Brad doesn’t like change. It’s one of the reasons to stay in Washington for a long time. So the purpose of this is to go to LA, and sign a long-term contract with professionals [next] summer. “
However, a long-term solution may be out of the question at this point.
In two seasons, Beal averaged 17.6 points per contest and missed a combined 58 games during that time. He played in just 106 of 164 games with Phoenix, per basket reference.
Beal hasn’t played at least 60 games in a single campaign since the 2020-21 season, which was a 72-game stretch during the 19-game pandemic.
