If you like to see pros make birdies, this is a good week for you to meet, because the red numbers are many in Mexico. Case in Point: The current leader, 27-year-old German Matti Schmid, has no bogeys, and has posted 15 birdies and an eagle in 36 holes.

Schmid leads the field in shots at 17 under par. He is one round away from his first PGA Tour. Just a shot behind him: SAMI from Finland’s Samimaki, also looking for his first win, and Nick Dunlap, looking for his third win, but his first since the Barracuda tournament.
