Henry Patten still has a chance to win the nitto atp finals with partner Harri Heliovaara, but the Briton already got a life win this week.
On Sunday, the day before Patten played his first game of the season, he encouraged longtime partner Ellie Stone.
“I’ve had Ellie now for the better part of 10 years, which is great,” Patten told Totptour.com. “It was coming at another time and as a tennis player, I don’t get to see him much this year. And this is one of the days he chooses.”
Patten secured the ring during Wimbledon and has been waiting for a special moment since then, every time we have Turin. The 29-year-old arrived the day before the stone and explored the city in full. He ended up finding the basilica di superga, with a view of the city.
“Somehow it was really quiet. It was up there in the morning, it was a really nice day, and then I told him to look at the chimneys, head over there,” said Patten. “He was very happy, very happy, I’m happy to report. Again [she was] Which is surprising, which I think gets me bonus points. “

The doubles standout played college tennis at the University of Carolina Asheville, where he met Stones, who was on the football team. They have been together ever since.
It is difficult for them to spend time together throughout the year because Stone is in his second year of medical residency in North Carolina.
“You’re a doctor, officially, but you’re in full training as a doctor there,” Patten said. “He doesn’t get a lot of time and he can’t travel a lot. It’s not like he can do his job remotely. He’s in the hospital all the time.”
As happy as he was, he needed a patten to take the court quickly to take the court inside the Inalpi Arena on Monday for his opening match with Helivaara and against Harrison and Evan King.
“I was more nervous about getting arrested than I was about playing my first game,” Patten said, laughing. “I can tell you that for free.”
Helivaara and Patten are 1-1 in the John McORROOE Name and still have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals. The Briton hopes to do as much as possible in Turin, but he will leave the city with a head held high no matter what.
“It’s a big thing for me, it’s very important. We’ve been together for 10 years and I’m going to spend the rest of my life with him, which I’m very happy about,” Patten said of the incredible engagement. “It’s crazy, because it’s obviously one of the biggest [tournaments]but the big back seat was taken. That being said, we are still taking tennis seriously. “
