At the beginning of his career, Villegas was one of the best players in the game. He won three times from 2008 to 20010, then again during the 2014 Wyndham Championship.

In his 2008 season, he finished T9 at the US Open at Torrey Pines (with a T4 Woods win) and T4 at the PGA Championship.

The next several years saw the Villegas stumble down the high-profile world amid star troubles and personal woes. But he eventually fought his way back into the ring, ending the 92Buttueld Bermuda Championship drought.

Unfortunately, this year has been a struggle for the famous pro. He only finished in the top-10, falling to 164 in the FedEx Cup finals. He is ranked 166th on the FedEx Fall list.

Villegas WD’d after the opening that is not in a bad moment in his last seat, the Bank of Utah Championship, but in fact it actually shows promising signs in the World Championship.

Although he opened the first round with a double bogey on 10, he added another on 17, making two birdies and bogeying the par-3 3 hole to get back to par.

But when Villogegas hit the 4th hole on Thursday, disaster struck. The long Par-4 runs uphill and is surrounded by traditional Sandy terrain. It seems that the indigenous areas are where Villogas runs into trouble.

According to the play-by-play on pgatour.com, the videos shot by his tee shot 4 in the traditional position. He then took the second, fourth, fourth, sixth and sixth from the traditional medicine area, before returning to the village.

After reaching the green with his seventh shot, Villegas carded a quintuple-bogey 9. Two more bogeys were followed by 6 and 7 to finish with a seven-over 79.

With slow players and a cut considered 5 under PAR, Villegas needed a heroic round on Friday to play the weekend. Starting in the back nine on Friday, he quickly made 1 and 2 bindies to improve to three in the tournament.

After the par at 3, Villegas arrived at the scene of his swoon in round 1. But VilleGas’ second attempt at the 4th hole went worse than the 1st.

He missed his first drive and was forced to take a penalty and re-tee. According to the play-by-play, four of the eight shots were “from the fairway.” He seemed to have a shot on the eighth and finally got to the green, where he putt in two with a sextuple-bogey 10.

After making a par on the 5th, Villegas withdrew from the tournament. Trip announced his WD but did not give a reason.
