Zegras leads Flyers to victory in high scoring – hockey writers – Philadelphia Flyers
On Friday night (Nov. 14), St. Louis Blues welcomed the Philadelphia Flyers to action over the weekend. The Blues were looking for a second straight game win, while the Flyers were hoping to end their two game streak. Let’s jump into the restoration of this game.
Previous game
The Blues were led on the ice for pregame warmups by Hunter Skinner, who was playing in his NHL debut. Skinnerner’s parents were present at this special moment in their son’s career.
First time
The Blues drew first blood at 1:19 in the game. Jordan Kyrou stole the puck from trevor zegras in the neutral zone and fired a shot off the post for an early lead. Zegras would find redemption at 8:18, scoring his fifth goal of the season to tie the game.
The Blues responded just over a minute later. Robert Thomas took the open puck and took it to the offensive end. Thomas went to the net, but then went up the left and passed the puck to Jimmy Snuggerud, who restored the Blues’ lead with his fifth goal of the season.
The first period ended with a 2-1 lead. Shots on goal were between the two teams after the period, 8-8.
The second time
The Flyers almost tied the game early in the second period, but their shot missed the goal and stayed in the net. Later, Justin FAULK scored to give the Blues a 3-1 lead. Cam Fowler picked up an assist on the play, his 500th NHL point.
Flyers will not be banned, however. Less than a minute after Faulk’s goal, Christian Dvorak scored to make it 3-2. Zegras, continuing to redeem himself, moved to Emil Andrae at 18: 24 to tie the game.
The second period ended with the game tied, 3-3. The Flyers outshot the blues in the period, 11-4.
The third time
Dylan Holloway got the third period started on a bright note, scoring 40 goals to restore the Blues’ lead. That lead narrowed to 5-3 after a big steal to Thomas, who buried the puck.
Second, the Flyers found themselves facing a two-goal deficit. Second, they would not be protected. Dvorak scored his second of the game at 7:53. Owen Tippett scored at 10:29 to tie the game.
Regulation will not be enough to find a winner. The Flyers outscored the blues in the third period, 6-4. They were outscored again, 25-16.
Over time
The Blues won the opening face-off in overtime and kept possession for the first few minutes. However, when the flyers found out, Zegras found himself in breach, but was encouraged by Pavel Buchnevich. Zegras was awarded a penalty shot, but Jordan binnington denied his bid to win the game, and his bid for a hat trick.
Extra time would not have been enough. The Flyers outscored, 5-1. They lost this game, 30-17.
Shooting
Thomas was the first shooter. He started down the left side before cutting in, but Samuel Ersson stopped his shot.
Zegras shot the flyers first. Unlike in overtime, Zegras Beating Binnington, this time it goes to the backhand and slides the puck under Binnington.

Snuggerud shot second for the Blues. As he approached the net, he lost his grip on the puck a little, and his shot came.
Matvei Michkov went next with a chance to win it. He tried to walk the big hole, but Binnington stopped the pills and gave life to the blues.
Hollowy had to extend to extend the match. His shot goes wild to beat the Flyers.
What’s next?
Both teams play on Saturday. The victorious Flyers head to Texas to play the Dallas Stars. The Blues will stay at home and host the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Blues and Flyers will meet next Thursday in Philadelphia for their second and final meeting of the season.
