Even during the 2025 stop on the ATP Tour, Jannik Sininer and his team knew that improvement was always possible.
The Italian captured the crown in another style on Sunday night in Tuni, where he defeated his main cause ALCARAZ in straight sets to successfully defend his title at the Nitto ATP Finals. The key feature of the sin reserve carried out in the respected season was his service, and his coaches Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi later reflected on the recent work he had done in the game of the world 2.
“Certainly after the US Open we saw some problems, especially with the service,” said Vagnozzi at the Inalpi Arena after the sin 7-6 (4), 7-5 victory in the final. “We changed the proposal. We changed the rhythm. He worked really well from Shanghai to here. Today in the second set he fought a little.
“I think that Carlos changed his position as a whole, he changed something in serving Jannik as well. This also changes a lot of open things. This changes a lot to have Jannik, which is fast to develop, to understand the changes and everything.”
The sinner reached championships in all four majors in 2025 before the change of vagozzi mentioned, lifting trophies at the Australian open and Wimbledon, which somehow made his coaches feel busy and felt needed. But Cahill stressed the need to work on what he called ‘the most important shot at the promise.
“You have one control in tennis, and that’s served,” the Australian said. “Jannik and Simone have done a great job in the last four or five weeks of enjoying the worship and getting that rhythm and tempo where they can.
“It’s not just about the first-run percentage. If we were really concerned about the first-run percentage, we’d let him lower the first-down power that would allow him to get the first points.”

The results since certainly prove Cahill’s opinion. After his final defeat at Alcaraz in New York, sin lifted the ATP 500 titles in Beijing and Vienna, the ATP Masters Trophy Trophy. The 24-year-old finished his season with a record of 58-6, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
Sturin’s Turin’s Turin against Alycaraz, where he maintained the first position and gathered from 1-3 to get the second edge, reducing the Lexus Atp Head2head devicit against 6-10. Vagnozzi was delighted with the way his charge handled his nerves in front of thousands of home fans.
“It was a really emotional game. It was a really tough game,” the coach said. “I think both of them, they had moments when they played really well, and sometimes they made some mistakes. We saw that Jannik always fought with a good face, and was placed in the rest of the team.
“We are really happy with Jannik’s performance. I think there is still something to work on and after this win, the game showed something that we can try to improve the season with a row.”
