Europe’s best golfers lined up for ‘Unofficial Major Offenior Golf’ – Golf News

Mouth Golfing’s brightest talents will converge on Portugal in December to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of Junior Golf’s most prestigious event – The 2025 Justin Rose Telegraph Jolf Championship at Quinta.

To mark its 40th anniversary, the championship will once again welcome 24 continental players aged 12 to 18 to compete over three rounds of the world-renowned ALGGARVE South

Known as the ‘Unofficial Gxie of Junior Golf’, the championship will return to Quinta do Lago for the ninth time in the last 11 years.

Open to both boys and girls aged 18 or under on January 1, 2025, the Juniors competed throughout the year for a place earned by the final series in the UK series. Among those returning this year will be defending boys champion Charlie Rusbridge, from Colne Valley Golf Club in Essex.

Since its inception in 1985, the tournament has been a proven track record for future stars. Justin Rose, who has sponsored the event since 2019, strongly raised the medal as a Junior before becoming a Grand Champion and Olympic gold medalist. Other notable alumni include round’s Ryder Cup tmitymates Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick, as well as Ladies European tour players Littie Awaad, Carly Booth, Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Melissa Reid.

Speaking ahead of the event, Rose said: “It’s amazing to see the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship won for so many years, because of mine.

“I am proud to continue to support this competition and all that is due. Thank you to Quinta for making it once again provide an outstanding category for the young player who participates.”

Eight-time host of the Portuguese Open, Quinta do Lago’s South Course Completing the golf course has outstanding practice facilities including the Resort’s Golf Academy which includes both Quinta do Lago’s Taylormade performance center and the state-of-the-art Paul McGinley Golf Academy, with recent upgrades.
