Remembering Rory McIlroy’s senior season – golf news

The debate that had enjoyed the best 2025 season – swercroy or Scottie Scheffler – was reawakened as the PGA folded in late August.

With Scheffler adding both the Open Division and the PGA CHAMPUPHIPS to his résumé, posting 17 top-10 finishes in 20 moves, and earning an eye-watering $27,659,550 in prize money, the world 1

But as golf fans who frequent sites like betdaq and every major betting exchange discussed the narrative of the season, one thing became very clear: McIlroy was out of action. Not this year. Not with history on the line.

Being only the sixth player to ever complete the Career Grand Slam, McRoyroy dominated this debate – and with what followed in the Cyder Cup and in the competition he went to Dubai, in the North of IIRISME washed in front of his American court.

At 36, there is very little left for mccilroy to accomplish in golf other than perhaps that Olympic gold in Los Angeles in three years’ time. Until then, here’s a look back at one of the most amazing moments of his beloved career.

Early Warning Signs

McIlroy has always been known for a fast start, building form in the early months before the spotlight turned to Augustra.

But 2025 felt different at first. His two-stroke win over his fellow junior Motoke at the Pebble Beach Pro-AM in February was impressive, but it was his surprise win over JJ Spaun that raised the stakes.

The momentum was building. Hope was rising. And as the azaleas began to bloom at Augusta National, the sense of end grew stronger.

Career Grand Slam

There can be no poetic place for McIcroy to end his long drought greater than the kings – his white whale, one gap in the brilliant mind of the work.

But the road to the green jacket was too far. At several points during the week, especially in the final round of the dispute, it looked like the ghosts of past August Collapses were happening again.

However this time, MICLOOY stood firm.

In the Playoff trade for Justin Rose, he finally exorcised those demons, capping off a great career and putting his name on golf’s most exclusive club. It was emotional, cathartic, historic – perhaps the defining moment of McIlroy’s career.

Open success

The opener at Royal Porttrud did not produce the home draw that was hoped for, although a seventh-tied finish was far from the same heart-rending debacle.

EK Club in September, Minroy delivered again to find the faithful Ireland. A stunning eagle on the 7th forced a playoff with rasmus neergard-pecesen, and the extra holes were all he needed to seal another memorable open victory.

It was vintage rory-flair, boldness, and a touch of magic.

Ryder Cup victory

Back in January, McIlroy set his remaining three goals for the career.

And yet, in one of the greatest Ryder Cups of modern times, Europe stunned the USA with a 15-13 triumph in hostile Bethpage.

McIlroy was in the middle. Despite losing his lead to Scheffler, he collected three and a half points from four in both seats, retaking the lead. It was redemption, validation, and monumental achievement all rolled into one.

Seventh race in the Dubai title

The final jewel in Mc MICLOY’s 2025 Crown came on the DP world tour. Going into this final tournament of the season, two players had a mathematical chance of catching him in the race for the Dubai standings.

Even though he lost a match to Matt Fitzpatrick at the DP World Tour Championship, MCLOOY has already done more than enough.

A seventh consecutive title of Merit – His in a row sealed his place in history. To surpass the famous betendasteros of Sepe and move within one record of Colin Montgomerie’s record was an achievement that not only speaks to McIcroy’s brilliance but also to his longevity.
