Eddie Howe Bemoans ‘End of Torture’ as AubeMeyang Double-Sees Newcastle Squnder Live at Marseille Developt

Eddie Hoee then spelled “The End of Torture” as he reduced Marseille’s one-goal lead.
The impressive toon in the first half continued after only six minutes thanks to a goal from Harvey Barnes, following the display of his two goals against Manchester, but was punished by the two goals of Pierre-Emerick Aupemeyang shortly after the Star-time break in the burning area of the Stade Velodrome.
The ex-arsenal striker curled back on fire from a wide angle after picking up a nick from the round, before turning home a cross to set up the winner.
Eddie Howe told TNT Sports: “I think the goal is far enough after half-time that it changes the whole feel of the stadium and the game itself.
“And it was a bit of a torture from our point of view, and then, we never, reacted well enough to see the second one and from there, it was tough mentally.
“The effort was good. I think the start of the second half, obviously, was a big thing for us. 15 minutes at the start of the second half, I thought, cost us.
“I thought we handled the atmosphere well in the first half, and even at the end of the game, I felt like there were opportunities to score points when you worked hard.”
A poor start to the second half cost Newcastle
Dan Burn was disappointed to see a three-game winning streak in the Champions League and agreed with his manager that it was their start that finally showed the cost.
The defender said: “Yes, of course, it’s frustrating. I thought we stuck to the game plan well. The whole game, which was kind of crazy 10-16 minutes at the start of the second half is expensive.
“It’s definitely disappointing to come to a team like that in a stadium like this, an atmosphere like this, and put all that in and destroy them no matter what.
“Mentally we didn’t start the second half and we want to do it. And I think obviously Aubameyang, [he’s] 36 years old, but still sharp, and can still finish and show its quality today.
“And I think when you go to one place and you have to be separated, far away from home. It’s hard, like I said.
“I think it was actually working pretty well, but important moments are expensive. I think our chances should have scored and we didn’t. [To concede the] Two goals, [we’re] he was very disappointed. ”
Aubameyang: I feel good, even at 36
Aubameyang continues to show his quality at 36 as he scored his seventh and eighth goals of the season and the former captain believes he has plenty of time left at the top level.
He added: “I’m very happy to be here at this tournament to enjoy moments like tonight. It was a good game. We started slowly.
“I feel good, even at 36. When you play these types of games, you want to play a lot and score a lot.
“It was very important, especially at home and for the fans. If we want to go through, then we have to win games.”
