Oilers reportedly interested in Penguins’ Tristan Jarry – hockey writers – Edmonton oxers

The Oders in Edmonton have been involved in distributing those good guesses for a few weeks, they think they are not consistent enough and can find a way to put a win streak together, and reports seem to come out every day about them being linked to someone. Recently, they have been linked with St. Louis Blues’ Jordan Binnington, but earlier today, they were linked with Pittsburgh Parry’ Tristan Jarry’ Tristan Jarry.

Jarry, who is 30 years old, has played seven games this season, winning five matches, while putting in 2.60 goals against – average – 4.8 goals saved over (GSAX). Vekeran has 300 games played in his career, where he has 157 of them, posting 22 shutouts, and a 2.75 gaa with a .909 SV%.

As mentioned for weeks in his report, Jarry has already played in Edmonton before, having spent time in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Edmonton Kings of the top four divisions and 2014-15.

As Calvin Pickard and Stuart Skinner continue to struggle, it’s no surprise that the Oilers continue to be linked with new buyers. If they want a chance to turn things around and make another deep planeff, they need to make some changes, so the fact that they seem aggressive on the trade front is a good sign.

How can trading work?

Jarry is signed through the 2027-28 season and has a cap hit of $5,375,000. The Oilers will have to find a way to free up that amount of cap space to make a trade deal, which shouldn’t be overly difficult. Getting rid of both Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak gives them $5,350,000 to work with, and they could do something else to move them to afford it.

There are a few things to keep in mind here. The penguins may not want to bring in another goal, so the oilers will have to trade the skin elsewhere. On top of that, Jarry has some trade protection for the team’s 12-character roster, but if he thinks he might be comfortable going back to Edmonton, having some history in the city, that shouldn’t be a problem.

After all that, it’s a matter of convincing the penguins to keep coming out of the jar. They would be interested in moving the goaltender, they think they have three ready to go, but they won’t give it away.

In reality, the Oilers will have to give Kulak, Maxim Berezkin, and Jarry’s first conditional pick. If the penguins do end up with one, the deal could include a second round pick or a prospect like Quinn Hutson or Beau Akenkey.

Either way, it looks like the Oilers are finally getting aggressive in a trade up front and want to do something. After Skinner’s recent struggles, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him move again to the Oilers to make a change between the pipes.

There seems to be some smoke behind a potential move, but nothing seems imminent at this point. For now, fans will have to sit back and see if anything comes of the speculation.
