On December 30 this year, Tiger Woods turns 50, and questions about when or when he will return to Pro Golf. This week, the wood’ of the former Steve Williams turns 62, and he will be the biggest tournament in the world.
According to a report from Australia Golf Digest, Williams is coming out of retirement as a caddy for the Australian Pro with eyes on the Aussie’s major title and the kings are inviting it to deliver.

Steve Williams to Caddy in 2025 Australian PGA Championship
From 1999-2011, Williams was in Tiger’s bag for his greatest achievements. The 13 majors he won together included the “tiger slam” in 2000-2001, and was won by Wood’s Epic-Leg Recory in the 2008 Open at Torrey Pines.
After the couple’s divorce in 2011, Scott went on to caddy for Adam Scott, who helped the Kings win in 2013.
He eventually retired from full-time life, occasionally carrying Scott’s bag at majors and other big events.
In recent years, Williams has accepted retirement from Golf, but has not stopped working entirely. He wrote a memoir with the priest of Evin during his time working with wood called “rotten, we were released this year.
But now, Williams is wrapping up her golf career and getting back into the caddy groove. According to a report from Australian Golf Digest, Williams will be Australian caddy Anthony Quayle this week at the Australian Pga Championship.
Quayle, 31, was one of three winners to secure his DP World Card on the PGA Tour Australasia. The Aussie PGA will be the first start of his new membership on the European Premier Tour.
Williams revealed his happiness in working for Quayle to the Australian Golf Digegati, saying, “Anthony had a great experience and he has the experience of playing on his tour, it’s worth it.”
Quayle told Australia Golf magazine that he was looking forward to playing with Williams as his caddy would be a “really good experience.”
“I’m very lucky that Steve was willing to come and help me … I think that there is someone like Steve in your bag, you can’t help that he has maybe 15 years of experience in his bag,” said Cayle.
Steve Williams looking for another Kings start?
Between four majors and one with Scott, Williams has the most experience at Augusta National.
His most recent appearance was in 2023 working for Scott, who finished T39th that week. While Williams believes that could be the end of his time at Augusta, he now has his eyes on another start, this time with Quayle’s clubs.

That’s because Williams isn’t just working as Qayle’s caddy this week, he’s also working for her next week at the Australian Open. From this year, the winner of the Australian open receives an invitation to the masters.
And Williams thinks Quayle has “found the game” to compete there.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen him play up close and you’ve got to be lucky enough to get a win at the Australian open, he’s the game to play at Augusta,” Williams said.
The 2025 Australian PGA Championship begins on Thursday, November 27, with the Australian Open kicking off on December 4.
