Should beginners be ready for clubs? This experience says yes

Many times, I have heard people tell me that no one is good enough to deserve a custom club.
I call the bs
Recently, I took my mother-in-law, my father-in-law, Sam, to the club to put this lie to bed once and for all.
Sam has always been an unofficial golfer, but recently decided to be more serious about it this year as my femiacée and I moved back to Boston, where his parents live.
He kept playing his game against me before we even set foot for the first time, but it didn’t take long for me to see why.
SAM had only ever owned one set of golf clubs, and was still using a set of zing irons, built in 1992.
In the summer, he began taking lessons for the first time in his life, and began to see improvement in his Balryrikking, but it was still apparent that his equipment was cutting him off.
He was long overdue for improvement, but Sam also wondered what the purpose of finding the right club was for the beginning golfer. Should he continue to work on training his golf to produce consistent results before finding fit?

Fortunately, Boston has an authentic golf course in Waltham, Massachusetts, about 25 minutes outside of the city, so I thought it would make how much of a beginner you can find suitable.
What you should
We decided to take it slow at first, just working on Sam’s irons and wedges, because he has a taylormade speed R580 – modern technology compared to his whole bag! – That it does not have many obstacles that keep football from playing with them.
The first True Special Master Fitter Brian Gulno got Sam to warm up and get a sense of his inclinations. Of course, Sam was attacking the contact, but the balls found the face with him, he was hitting high, short, and went to the right. The impact areas were high and from the toe.
Brian quickly collected a few different heads for testing and began looking into whether Sam should use steel or graphite shafts. It wasn’t long before he decided Sam could produce a lot of speed and launch with light greens. He quickly found success with the UST Quantum Speed Shaft.

This was a big “Aha!” for a while. Sam wrestled with a few more threads and then started putting them through the UST machine. He asked Brian how that was possible despite the “shitty” (his words, not mine!) Swing.
“It’s amazing when people come here and think, ‘Wow, my depth,'” Brian Siad. “It’s not the swing that sucks. The swing is a constant part of your game. It’s contact. It’s not good.”
Sam struggles with the big piece because his swing always comes over (to the inside) about five to eight degrees. What changes is whether or not you take the club out and get the clubface back to square.
“If you look at a golfer with a 20-plus handicap compared to a clart golfer, one of the biggest things they have in common is that their swing is the most dynamic part of them, even if their handicap is part of it,” Brian said. “The most inconsistent part of the 15-, 20-, 25-handicapper is going to be the contact. So when you look at these human piles and you look at these advantages and you look at the average golfer, the biggest difference is how they actually make contact with the Golf Ball.”

“So to get it in another way now that those times up to your intensity, it allows you to get it out a little more over the face of the club, now you’re going to start getting better, you know, all the better things about golf.”
That’s why it’s so important to see the shaft as a way to set the time. When you get one of those times with your unique swing, it makes it much easier to measure the club face and hit it straight.
With his early irons, the shaft was not paying off, so he would go left with an open club face and put it right. Now you get a kicking shaft.
The final challenge was just getting my head around that. Brian and Sam chose Taylormade’s TI Iron because it has the same long blade length that they love after years of playing zings. He also used the same shaft, with just a little weight, in two marriages to pull himself out of the bottom of the bag.
Results
The progress was actually amazing.
With his 6 iron, Sam took an amazing 9.4 mph ball speed limit. Part of that is due to the nearly 4 mph increase in clubhead speed due to the lighter shaft, but his efficiency (ball speed divided by clubhead speed) also improved from 1.30 to 1.36. We also found that the jumbo-size rims allowed Sam to feel like he was getting more control of the club, actually releasing his grip pressure, which he quickly accepted.
His launch and spin decreased, but due to the speed of the fast ball, he is still almost able to achieve the same high and Sam will be happy to trade a few meters high for 15 yards of 15 yards. At his level, he doesn’t want to throw darts at probes tied up behind bunkers. He’s just checking that the ball is rolling onto the green.
Taylormade custom qi irons
It’s no surprise that golfers tend to miss to the right. That’s why Qi irons are designed to be the highest quality golf irons. Unlike other game improvement irons that tend to err on the side of precision, Qi Irons are carefully engineered for precision and control. The Integrated Design System of this technology allows us to use each head of each instrument. Driven by Organic Face geometries, Cap Back Design ™ and Speed Pocket ™, this comprehensive method seeks the performance of each head to promote complete lubrication, which is an exemplary ball miracle and strong explosion that continues throughout the set. Engineered with a cap back ™ design this new construction combines the benefits of a factory body metal with that of a traditional cavity back. In addition to optimizing multiple structures, it works in unison with the hybrar Echo® that absorbs vibrations to reduce unwanted vibrations and deliver a satisfying sound and feel.

But what is most important to us is the fact that the standard SAM club face goes from 2.5 degrees open to 3.5 degrees closed. It is enough to start the ball on the left and slightly neutral of the determined spin applied by his external method, which leads to it going straight.
“Overall, we lighten the shaft. The head will feel a little lighter, and it will be a lot easier on you,” Brian said. “So, the way you maintain Club Head Speed now and the distance will be much easier throughout the golf round.”
Brian also fits the SAM in a set of Vokey SM10 Wedges with S-grafur to lower his mountain point on the face, which helps him generate more speed and only flexibility.

Chie Speci Golf Club Fitting
With 70,000+ Clubhead and Shaft Combos, Chirt Special Golf will customize and build an accurate collection of clubs.
One thing Sam really strives for is holding onto the face of the club and not swinging it out, which makes for a very weak right.
Now with the shaft at that time, you will get a better feel of the club shaft. What we saw in the right pool from the very beginning was what he could see when he started practicing and playing with these new clubs.
Of course, it’s a tough time getting new clubs in New England in November, when most courses are closed for the winter, but Sam is excited to put this one on display next spring. It will make the start of next season much more exciting for him and help him improve quickly when the season starts.
Obviously, one shouldn’t set foot in the fairway with their first golf experience, but once you’ve played enough to develop swing tendencies, it’s worth helping you improve quickly.
