Another injury sidelined Zion Williamson after 10 games into the season, and opposing teams reportedly aren’t charging the power to negotiate any deals for the two-star New Orleans star.
NBA Teams Not Interested In Zion Williamson Trade
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Tim BOntempPS, Williamson’s trade value across the league is “not very high” right now, as the 25-year-old remains sidelined with a grade 1 left hamstring strain.
“Intel on Williamson within the league, arbitrary or not, is not good,” he wrote. “There have been a lot of coaches, support staff, and players working on cycling through new bikes over the past seven years, including all the injuries and a one-game suspension in January due to a late team flight.”
The pelicans picked up back-to-back night wins over two teams that lost to the charlotte hornets and the dallas mavericks, but they still sit in 14th place in the western conference.

This could be the perfect time for New Orleans to make a franchise-changing trade.
One executive coach told Willhorst that the best way for the Pelicans to try to get a “win-now” deal is because they are in dire need of multiple wins.
“To be honest, their move is likely to be a win-now trade, not a time trade,” said the claimant. “His trade value is not there and they are under some pressure to win.”
Injuries are Williamson’s forte
According to basketball reference, the injury limited Williamson to play only 219 games in 480 games in his NBA career. He has played in less than half of all of New Orleans’ games since the start of the 2019 season and has never appeared in a playoff game.
Williamson missed the last four seasons due to foot, back, and knee injuries.
More than six times since being the NBA’s CHE PICE CHE NO 1 pick in the 2019 draft, Williamson has appeared in just 61 games or more. He played in 30 games last season before being sidelined by the Pelicans last March due to a bone fracture in his back.
“There’s no reason New Orleans is going to trade him,” an Eastern Conference scout noted. “So, they can wait to see if they can get his price to go up.”
However, Williamson’s trade value is not increasing anytime soon, as the Pelicans intend to keep the six-year-old Velican sidelined for at least seven to 10 days due to his hamstring strain.
Before his injury, Williamson was leading New Orleans in scoring (22.8 points per game), rebounding (6.8), and assists (4.6). He also shot a career-low 48.7% from the field and 66.7% from the foul line.
During the offseason, the pelicans guaranteed Williamson’s salary of $39.4 million this season. His 2025-26 salary is part of a five-year, $197.23 million extension
