What was it like working at Phil Mickelson’s golf clubs?

Phil Mickelson is an Enigma in many ways, but one big one is his water.
In this week’s episode of the fully equipped golf content manager, Callaway Tour Jompson, who was a writer for the MICKELLON TOUR when major winners were sponsored by Callaway, sat down to share some of his stories working with him.
Thompson said his first collaboration with MICKelson came in 2011. Thompson was on his Odyssey Putters as OdyLelson asked him to fix his wind and lie his 8800 PM.
Those vaters were notorious for going into the machine on the roof and lying out of many places to putt, and Thompson accidentally slipped and reprimanded.
“I was trying to get this thing in place and put enough pressure on it and it just popped out,” Thompson said. “And I mean, I was insulted.”
When he showed him the putter, Mickelson didn’t feel any tension.

“You look at it and you’re like, ‘I don’t see it, whatever,'” Thompson recalled. “And he was fine with it. So I’m like, thank God.”
But Thompson’s favorite story happened later in Boston at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Thompson had a fun, but long night without the day before the tournament, as he explained – and the next morning he received a call from Mickelson’s Mackidy, who is his friend after being his childhood banker.
“You go, ‘Can you meet Phil on the green?’ And I’m like, yeah, no problem,” Thompson said. “Go. And he has a custom-made sabertooth for Saberna and saberly in the bag. And he is trying to figure out how to use this stomach.
“And you’re asking me all these questions about how to use a belly putter. And I’m in a deep mental fog at night. And I had to win and answer all these questions.
“And then at the end we like to finish and I was like, ‘Oh my God, how did it happen, it just happened, I can’t, I can’t believe I have to go through it and it’s 100 percent.’
“But yeah, I was watching him try, and I think he used it that way, he got arrested a lot.”
Luckily, Mickelson didn’t blame Thompson for his performance on the greens, but Thompson said it was one of the most in-depth conversations he had with him during that time.
“It was the first time that he asked me, like my opinion on that matter. And it was one of the nights of that year that I probably had a very long night,” he said.
