The Spark flies at the beginning of Frederic and Mathieu Olivier dropped the gloves for more than two minutes in the field and exchanged great blows. The first time was physical. It would be the blue jackets who hit first as Provorov was shot by Ivan with his eyes for the third time. Edmonton would answer late in the frame when Jake Walman hit a fadeaway-style shot from the point to tie things up. The game remained tied early in the inning, with shots in favor of the Oilers’ 7-4 lead.
The second period started quickly when Columbus scored 1:39 into the game. Sean Monahan buried his own deception to lead his team. Most of the time it was very quiet and Edmonton was eliminated in their own end several times. The blue jackets struck again with a few minutes remaining on a smooth pass from Boone Jenner to make it 3-1 at the second break. They also led on the scoreboard 15-16.
The last period started as quickly as the second, but for the oilers this time. Connor McDavid danced around defenses and threw a painful front side jet lupleve to reduce the deficit. Not long after that, McDavid would enter the box together with Zak-Reese. In 4 old four – four, Columbus returned their lead leading to the sources of Adam Pintlilli bangilling at home.

The Oilers would then counter again with over six minutes left to play. It was McDavid again with a Mad Dash to the Net and a quick one-slide past. Then finally with 57.9 seconds to go in regulation, Walman had a generous tip and launched the Oilers all the way back to it and forced overtime. The game was tied 4-4 heading into overtime, with Edmonton outshot 22-18.
Overtime we took almost no time. The Oilers rode the momentum and Jack Roslovic took an all-ice power play to seal the deal. The final score was 5-4 edmonton, and the shot was 24-13 for them.
There were some good performers all over ICE this evening in this crazy game. Jenner and Fantlilli led the way for the Blue Jackets with two points each. As for the winning streak, Walman had two goals and an assist, McDavid had two goals, and Roslovic had a game winner and an assist.
