Kanoa Gigashi knows what it takes to compete at the highest level of the sport, winning a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics. But that didn’t stop the 28-year-old from being impressed by what he saw at the Nitto ATP Finals.
“Tennis has always been that game where it’s physically and mentally the hardest game in the world,” Girashi told Cptour.com. “As a sport, I look at many tennis players as inspiration, and I get a lot of information from them. But suddenly, I was suddenly there, so it was a few weeks in Turin at my risk.”
Based in Lisbon, Igarashi quickly became a big fan of Tennis. After attending the rolex paris masters and the nitto atp finals as an ATP content creator, the Japanese star has met some of the best players in the sport.
“It’s crazy. To build a relationship with some of these guys and have a good conversation with some of these athletes,” it means that I plan a lot even if you play a lot of different ways of doing your game, but the goal is the same. “
Girashi enjoyed exchanging ideas about competition preparation and training, eating and off the playing field.
“I went home every day, I took notes from some of the guys. [They] He told me, ‘Wow, have you ever trained like this or done this type of breathing exercise? Have you ever looked at sports this way? “Igarashi said.”[There are] Different views, different angles, and I felt like I was growing a lot as an athlete and in my game. So to say, some of these past few weeks, things that I will take my next time. “
One of the talks that came out was with Felix Auger-Aliassime, who suited up for Turin during the last week of the season finale. They were talking about breathing and dealing with stress.
“Tennis is about resetting after each point, whether you win or lose, and being fresh for the next point. We get to reset after the next wave,” Igarashi said. “We were talking about some breathing issues and sharing the ways we were dealing with it in our own way.
“We picked each other’s brains a little bit, and it was a good conversation. He’s the most philosophical. So am I. So it should be.
ATP and TikTok officially launched the Tennis Creator network, a Global Creator initiative that debuted this week at the Nitto ATP Finals. Grashi is a member of the Tennis Creator network, which represented Indian sources in Turin. Read more about the pioneer program here.
