Alcaraz sets up final clash with sinner at ATP Finals – Tennis now

They have cried out to the tennis world throughout 2025, becoming the first author to compete for the best junior men’s singles in open history, and no.2 (take your pick at any time) in the men’s game.

So that’s worth it Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik SINERY We will wrap the final bow around the 2025 ATP season on Sunday in Turin as they compete in the Nitto ATP Finals Ticales.

Alcaraz passed his swimming test on Saturday as he took down Felik-Alias-AliasShime to join the semifinals, 6-2, 6-4. It was another devastating display from the 22-year-old Spaniard, who excelled in building the situation and never really letting the high-flying Canadian into the fray.

“I felt like I could do everything on the court,” Alcaraz said in his pre-set presentation. “It doesn’t matter if I made a line before, took it down or if I went down the line, I think everything will help you in the whole match, I pressured him to do something different and I’m glad that I continued to play such great tennis.”

Alcaraz used that first get to get to a tidy scoreline of 25 winners against 10 unforced errors, including 15 off the forehand side, to just four for Auger-Aliassime (in total Alcaraz had +11 forehand winners to errors, while Auger-Aliassime was -8).

Alcaraz was broken 3-1 and 6-1 as she came out of the gates with some of the best tennis she has ever produced on the indoor Supreme Court. Auger-Aliassime, who leads the ATP with 17 indoor wins this year, was not just a match for the Spaniard.

Alcaraz saved the only break point he faced and converted three chances to win a close contest in 22 minutes, and will now set his sights on his 16th ATP tour meeting on Sunday.

“I’m just happy to see myself with these forces, to be honest,” said Alcaraz. “That means the level we’re doing, we’re playing throughout the season, we’re consistently playing great tennis.

“Jannik and I are [are] to play the finals. I think that every time we face each other, we raise our level, I think of tennis, to be visited, because the crowd plays well which is worth watching. I think that means we’re doing a really good job of it. “

The two players have not played since Alcaraz defeated the Spaniard in four sets at this year’s last open, which elevated the Spaniard to NO.1. Since then the pair have topped the rankings, with Alcaraz locking up the top-end’s No.1 position earlier this week.

But there will be plenty at stake between these two rivals. Sinner is riding a 30-game indoor court winning streak, and will be looking to defend the title in Turin. If he succeeds he will be the youngest player to successfully defend the title since Roger Federer in 2003 and 2004.

Alcaraz is playing in his first ATP Finals appearance – holding a 10-5 career edge in offense, including 7-2 on hard courts.

Alcaraz has now reached 10 finals in his last 11 events, and will bid for his 25th career title. The sinner will seek the day 24 24.

ALCARAZ is bidding to join Manuel Orantes and Alex Cortetja as one of three Spanish men to win the ATP all-time champion. It is a tournament Rafael Nadal has never been able to win (he played the last in 2010 and 2012, losing to Federer and Djokovic), but Alcaraz has prioritized success in Turin this year. His desire to reach the highest level of success in the face of adversity says it all with his long-term commitment to not abandoning his greatest potential.

“It would mean a lot to me because the last half of the year I’ve been working hard and I’m really focused on being in good time to play this tournament,” said Alcaraz.

Obviously we have some really important competitions on the House Court. For me, I was very focused on this. To come here, to play good tennis, and to be able to lift the medal at the end of the week would mean a lot to me, and more wins for Jannik, and being on the same list as corsetja, to be a spaiard to win this tournament. Putting my name next to them would be great.
