Alcaraz saved the only break point he faced and converted three chances to win a close contest in 22 minutes, and will now set his sights on his 16th ATP tour meeting on Sunday.
“I’m just happy to see myself with these forces, to be honest,” said Alcaraz. “That means the level we’re doing, we’re playing throughout the season, we’re consistently playing great tennis.
“Jannik and I are [are] to play the finals. I think that every time we face each other, we raise our level, I think of tennis, to be visited, because the crowd plays well which is worth watching. I think that means we’re doing a really good job of it. “
The two players have not played since Alcaraz defeated the Spaniard in four sets at this year’s last open, which elevated the Spaniard to NO.1. Since then the pair have topped the rankings, with Alcaraz locking up the top-end’s No.1 position earlier this week.
But there will be plenty at stake between these two rivals. Sinner is riding a 30-game indoor court winning streak, and will be looking to defend the title in Turin. If he succeeds he will be the youngest player to successfully defend the title since Roger Federer in 2003 and 2004.
Alcaraz is playing in his first ATP Finals appearance – holding a 10-5 career edge in offense, including 7-2 on hard courts.

ALCARAZ is bidding to join Manuel Orantes and Alex Cortetja as one of three Spanish men to win the ATP all-time champion. “It would mean a lot to me because the last half of the year I’ve been working hard and I’m really focused on being in good time to play this tournament,” said Alcaraz.
Obviously we have some really important competitions on the House Court. For me, I was very focused on this. To come here, to play good tennis, and to be able to lift the medal at the end of the week would mean a lot to me, and more wins for Jannik, and being on the same list as corsetja, to be a spaiard to win this tournament. Putting my name next to them would be great.
