Bettinardi adds new SB3, SB5 Put to LineUp Antidote

On Tuesday, Bettinardi unveiled two new shapes in its paper antidote series, which are low-torque, toe-up designs from the Bettinardi family. This trend has blossomed over the past two years and it seems to be not slowing down, so Bettinardi doubled down on the design offerings by styling the SB3 Fang and SB5.

I had the opportunity to go over to Bettinardi Studio B in Oakbrook, Ill., to prepare for the best option for my game and both of these things surprised me. Surprisingly, the SB5 would have been the last in the line I would have reached for, but it was my favorite.

The SB3 has a fang-style design but is way more polished at address, and behind the ball is a dual-recovery design that shines in its beauty. The two white lines that decorate the fangs of the putter in the flange area are easy to use with the right purpose, and my favorite part about both models is that although the hosel is set back so that its line is still nice and thin.
Having a top line construction like this sounds to me like you could use two edges (front and back) to help ensure perpendicular alignment of your target face.
Bettinardi 2025 Antidote SB3 custom punter
The Antidote series was first introduced to facilitate wear with an advanced torque design. With the addition of the SB3 and SB5, Bettinardi brings new options to golfers looking for a solid commitment with head styles that inspire complete confidence at address. Antidote SB3 – High MOI, Fang-Style Mallet Jewered to stay square at impact. The modern design improves alignment and fit, while Balancedâ„¢ technology eliminates the twist of a fixed state. Antidote SB5 – Antidote Mallet that contains the shoulders that flow into the back hole, to distribute the weight evenly on the perimeter with a balanced fit and control in a refined silhouette.

When you put the SB3 in it only you will see the clean design of the plate with cutouts in the 303ss aluminum alloy. That tells you that Bettinardi is trying to move the CG as far forward as the construction will allow while maintaining the low torque structures that are tracked in the rear, as well as the sound and feel that players expect from Bettinardi. Fang designs like this don’t really trick the sound because the fangs can act as tuning forks, but Bettinardi delivered.
As you make impact with the ball you get a nice tud-like click on the face that gives you instant feedback without feeling too soft. In my testing so far, and confirmed by my Fitter Lick at Bettinardi Studio B, the SB3 is just a touch firmer and more grown up than the SB5, which brings us back to my choice in the Antidote LineUp.
Like I said above, I’m not a Half-Moon Mallet Hallow Halcow type of player, but the feel from the SB5 is probably the best Bettinardi I’ve ever grown. It’s that beauty that is applied to the face with just a few clicks that gives you a lot of confidence to roll off the face. It provides enough feedback in the hands that you can feel your strikes off-center but feel as pure as a putter when you hit the putter off-center. Both of these items feature the Bettinardi Roll Wise face, we saw great value in the Quintec. The ball is rolling very fast and the right face has to come to the ball for a long time.

What makes me so giddy about SB5 or compatibility. Instead of having a different colored 303SS backplate like the SB3, the entire SB5 is the same kind of sweet matin silver that shines well even in the sun without reflecting the sunlight outside. There is one view of navinlines above with two navy AIDS that equip the bumpers of the putter in the flange area, and how the bumpers and these battle lines of the navy arrange the complete flange. It is not the only difference in this area of the putter, but the way the bumpers flow and are shaped makes the effect in your eyes as if this area in the middle of the flange, almost pulling the ball, is brighter than that putter. To my eyes, every time I put the putter down with the ball it looks like I can see this “line” from the flange all the way to the hole. I’m not aiming for a low toe-up punter And you can guess why.
Flip the SB5 over and you can see another one carved back where they try to bring that closer to the face, which helps to improve the feel and give you a “member of the” blade-putter nation).
Bettinardi was kind enough to finish these sticks for me with my preferred 15-inch grip selection, which gives me the balanced properties I prefer, especially for this type of putter.
If you’re a Bettinardi fan who doesn’t really get the antidote’s design or a player who appreciates a good milled putter with the details it takes, the antidote SB3 and Antidote SB5 are new options. They are available to order on December 2, or you can pre-order now from Farway Jockey or the Bettinardi website.
