Sunderland will not be quick to sign Senegal International Habib Diarra despite the upcoming Afcon decision

Sunderland will not rush habib direcra-sign reartra back from groin surgery as they try to stay among the patchetters in the Premier League.
Diarra was one of a handful of players to move on in the summer following the club’s promotion to the top flight through the play-offs.
The Senegal international made a bright start to his career at Sunderland following a £30million switch from Strasbourg but was suspended for training ahead of the match against Aston Villa in September and has missed the last seven games as a result.
The Regis Le Bris side have coped well without him – they sit fourth in the title weekend – and Frenchman Adramant Diarra will not be 100% fit again.
Le Bris said: “We are in a good place but we don’t want to rush the process because we will need Habib in the second half of his season.”

The situation is slightly complicated by Senegal’s participation in the African Nations Cup at Christmas. Championship teams are due to be named on December 11, three days before Sunderland’s Crunch derby clash with Newcastle at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland’s ideal scenario would be for Sunderland to miss out on the AFCON and stay in England for the busy holiday season.
“It’s too early for him to start with the national team and we could damage his health, we won’t risk it, but we’ll see,” Thele Bris, Romaine Mungle and Leo Hjelde turned to the Under-21s later today.
Sunderland has several players due to participation in the AFCON and LE BRIS hopes to work with the coaches of the national team to reduce the effect on his team.
“It’s not a big deal [date]especially a direct conversation with the staff,” he said when asked when the players should have left.
“I like to make them end it with the derby. There is no specific rule when we have to allow them to pass. It is important that our players are available in our team but we know about the African players in this cup.”
