Indian team for Odi Series revealed, KL Rahul named Captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad replaced shubman gill

The Indian Men’s Executive Committee has announced the Indian squad for the upcoming three-day international series against South Africa. Kl rahul He was named as the captain, while Ruturaj Gaikwad replaced the injured Captain Shubman in the 15-member squad. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohlo have graced the batting unit for the upcoming series.

This makes it clear that shubman gill is completely unfit to participate in the 50th leg, after losing in the Guwahati test. He was suffering from a neck injury during the first Test in Kolkata which decided him to play another part in the match. After being admitted to hospital, the BCCI has now confirmed that Gill will not take part in the ODIS, although an update to the T20I squad is currently awaited.

Shreyas Iyer, who is yet to fully recover from his spleen injury is fit for the series. He had picked up an injury during the tour in Australia, and has been away from any form of cricket since. With ruturaj and yashasvi jaiswal in the team, it will be interesting to see if the leeactors pick the maharashtra batter in the middle order?

Notably, the tough men also welcomed the return of Rishaby Pant to the ODI Set-up after the left-arm spinner was dropped following the main witcher, DHRUV yurel acting as backup. Tilak Varma is another Indian middle order option for this series.

Rounders in the side include the likes of Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy, while Ravindra Jadeja, who was overlooked for the ODIS against Australia, has made a comeback. The pace attack will be looked after by Harsh Rana, Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna, as both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have been given money.

India vs South Africa 2025, ODI Series – Schedule, Timings, Venue

The 50-over leg of the ongoing tour between India and South Africa will begin on November 30 with the first match in Ranchi. The second and third fixtures are slated to be played in Raipur and Visakhapatnam, respectively. All three matches will be played at 1:30 pm local time, and following the end of the ODIS, both teams will also participate in the T20I Off-off-off-off.
