Leeds United ace Ethan Ampadu has appeared to drop a hint over what’s going to be happening next with Junior Firpo.

The 28-year-old has been at Leeds since 202, but his future has been in some doubt recently, with his former club Real Betis strongly linked with re-signing him this summer.

It remains to be seen precisely what will happen with Firpo, but there may have been a hint from his teammate Ampadu.

The Leeds captain seemed to reference Firpo’s links with Betis during Leeds’ title celebrations, with the Dominican Republic international reacting angrily to the jokey chants.

Firpo might not be the best full-back in the world, but he’s been a solid performer for Leeds down the years, and one imagines Daniel Farke would ideally have liked to keep him for life in the Premier League next season.

Ampadu perhaps has reason to believe that Firpo won’t be staying, however, and perhaps that’s led to some bad blood between the pair.

Leeds fans will no doubt be concerned about this situation and look to get it resolved as soon as possible as it threatens to spoil such a strong campaign.

Uncertainty surrounding Leeds ahead of top flight return

Leeds will be back in the top flight next term, but there’s speculation surrounding the club after their Championship victory.

Although the Yorkshire outfit should be having plenty to celebrate, their success has quickly led to speculation over some key players, as well as over manager Farke.

Despite doing so well to get LUFC back up to the Premier League, there were rumours that Farke could leave his job.

These have now been seemingly put to bed, but Firpo remains one of a number of players worth watching in the coming weeks and months.
