To date, his numbers remain modest: three goals and three assists in 11 appearances, totaling just 629 minutes on the pitch. His contract with the Peixe runs only until June 30, which could have allowed for a free transfer — especially crucial given Barca’s strict salary limit regulations.

Despite the romance surrounding the Brazilian’s potential return, Barcelona has officially ruled out any move for the Brazilian forward. As per Diario Sport, the decision hinges on two key reasons — both sporting and philosophical.
The first is a name that has taken over not just the team sheet, but also the hearts of the Camp Nou faithful: Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old sensation, already a double winner and a strong Ballon d’Or contender, has become the club’s new face for the future. Sport reported that “the spectacular growth of Lamine Yamal has made the club rethink any need for a big-name winger like Neymar.”
Yamal has openly expressed admiration for the veteran and was even eager to share the pitch with his idol, but the club fears that Neymar’s return would overshadow his trajectory, particularly as Barcelona prepares to inaugurate the new Spotify Camp Nou — an event likely to feature the Spanish teenager front and center.
The second reason is rooted in Neymar’s own body. Since suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury in 2023, the experienced winger has struggled to stay fit.
