The Ligue 1 end of season market value update dropped on June 3rd with 463 players in the French top-flight having alterations to their valuations. Transfermarkt’s famed market values are recognised around the world by players, clubs and media outlets. The Ligue 1 update was released just days after PSG won the Champions League for the first time in their history after their 5-0 win over Inter Milan – the biggest win ever in a Champions League final.
Unsurprisingly, PSG comfortably possess the most valuable squad in Ligue 1 at €926.5 million and the top ten most valuable players in the league are from the champions. Three of the stars of PSG’s Champions League run are now the joint-most valuable players in Ligue 1 at €90m – Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Ligue 1 clubs hand more minutes to young players than any top five league and it’s deservedly earned its reputation as a talent factory. But who are the most valuable U21 players in Ligue 1? Let’s find out!
The most valuable U21 players in Ligue 1
Again unsurprisingly, PSG have the three most valuable U21 players in Ligue 1 with the aforementioned Doué occupying top spot. It’s truly been a remarkable season for the 19-year-old after joining PSG from Rennes for €50m last summer. The French international’s market value was just €30m in August but it’s increased by €60m across the season. João Neves has also enjoyed a stunning maiden season in Paris with his market value soaring by €25m to €80m. Warren Zaïre-Emery was viewed as the future of PSG for many years but he endured a frustrating season, losing his starting place and his market value dropped by €5m in the last update.
