The 2024/25 Premier League season has thrown up a lot of storylines. The first ball was kicked when Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United played Fulham all the way back in August and won thanks to a last-minute Joshua Zirkzee goal – which now seems an age ago. Eight months on, Liverpool have won the title in Arne Slot’s first season in charge, all three promoted teams were relegated (again), and Nottingham Forest have made an unlikely charge for Europe. And with the latest Premier League May market value update now complete, we can see which players benefitted the most in terms of market value across the campaign. We have calculated this by comparing all current Premier League player’s market values at the start of the season on July 1, 2024 and now after the May update.
The Premier League players to gain most market value this season
Leading the way with the most market value gained across the season is Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian was signed from Frankfurt for €75 million in January after a prolific first half of the campaign in the Bundesliga, and has seen his market value rise all the way from €22m to €75m across the course of the season – a +€53m rise. In second place is Bournemouth’s Real Madrid-bound centre-half Dean Huijsen. The 20-year-old Spaniard’s market value has risen from €10m to €60m over the 2024/25 campaign. Third goes to Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri, who has seen his market value sky-rocket from €8m to €55m this term.
Fourth goes to Newcastle’s superstar striker Alexander Isak, who has seen his market value rise by +€45m this season from €75m to €120m. In fifth is another Hale End Academy product at Arsenal in Myles Lewis-Skelly who has enjoyed a +€43m rise to €45m this term. In sixth, despite a small drop in the latest update, is Chelsea’s Cole Palmer who has risen by +€40m across the course of the season to €120m. Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch takes seventh with a +€40m rise to €75m. Then it’s Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers with a +€40m rise to €55m. Man City defender Abdukodir Khusanov is ninth with a +€32.5m gain, whilst Ipswich striker Liam Delap completes the top 10 with a +€32m rise.
