Liverpool star Andy Robertson has admitted that his future at Anfield remains uncertain, with his contract at an end and final talks over an extension yet to begin.
The Scotland international, who has been one of the most influential left-backs in world football over the past decade, says he is “relaxing” about whatever comes next, whether that means signing a new contract or moving on at the end of the season.
The 31-year-old defender, who joined Liverpool from Hull City in 2017 for £8 billion, has been one of the defining figures of Jürgen Klopp’s success at home and in Europe.

Since his arrival, Robertson has made over 280 appearances for the club, lifting two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, and the Club World Cup.
His tireless energy, leadership, and tenacity made him a fan favorite and a symbol of Liverpool’s high style.
However, this season brought new challenges. Under ARNE SLOT, Robertson faced competition from Milos Kerkez, the Helpented Hungary full-back last summer.
Despite an inconsistent start to the campaign, Robertson appeared to have re-established his place in the starting XI, having started four consecutive games before the international break.
Still, speculation about his long-term future continues. The veteran full-back was linked with a move to Atletico Madrid last summer, and interest from European clubs remains strong as he approaches the final year of his contract.
Robertson discussed the situation with common sense and humility, as reported by The Standard:
“I think last season everyone was bored talking about three men [Salah, Van Dijk, and Trent]But for me, the relationship between me and the club has been good.
“They’ve done everything for me and my family, and I think I’ve never been too bad for them. Whatever happens will happen after it, and it’s my last year, so that’s it.”
When asked if contract talks are ongoing, Robertson hinted at negotiations.
“I had a stressful summer in terms of decisions and things like that.
“I told myself to just try and enjoy the next few months. Obviously, it won’t start taking over my life as we approach the end of the season, but now, I’m focused on football.”
Robertson’s future remains unclear
Liverpool’s management is reported to have been indecisive about whether to offer Robertson an extension or start planning for a succession of young players like Kerkez.
The club values Robertson’s leadership and experience greatly but must also balance its long-term strategy as several top players approach the end of their careers.
