Paris Saint-Germain defender Axel Tape has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season, and the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keen.

According to Sports Zone, the 17-year-old will not sign a new deal with PSG, and he has decided to move on in the summer. Chelsea and Tottenham are hoping to secure his signature, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

The defender is capable of operating as a central defender as well as a defensive midfielder. He could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for the two English clubs.

Chelsea and Tottenham could use the PSG prospect

Chelsea need more depth in the defensive unit, and the 17-year-old could develop into a key player for them with the right guidance. He has the tools to develop into a top-class player. He would be a future investment for the Blues.

On the other hand, Tottenham require defensive depth on the side as well. They have done well to bring in talented young players in recent windows, and it seems that they are looking to add to the formidable pool of young talent already at the club. It remains to be seen whether they can beat Chelsea to his signature in the coming months.

Chelsea and Tottenham will be attractive destinations for the young defender, and regular football in England could help him improve further. It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs comes forward with an offer to get the deal done first.

The versatile defender will be out of contract in June, and signing someone of his potential on a free transfer could prove to be a masterstroke in the long term.
