Latest transfer news: Wrexham eye Premier League star as Neymar eyes Santos stay

The summer transfer window is growing ever closer on the horizon for many of the biggest players in European football and as such clubs across the continent are already making plans for the summer window. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets and figuring out their budgets.

Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals. A plethora of players will become available in the summer where clubs famously have more money to spend and aren’t as restricted by financial fair play rules. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories. 

Today’s biggest transfer stories 

Wrexham are reportedly keen on signing Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney. The Scotland captain’s contract expires this summer and the Welsh club are understood to be willing to offer him a substantial wage. Wrexham have won three consecutive promotion and they’ll play in the English Championship next season.

Liverpool expect Florian Wirtz to stay in the Bundesliga next season. The Anfield club and Manchester City are both interested in the €140m rated attacking midfielder but it’s believed that he’d prefer to remain in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen or move to Bayern Munich, according to the Times.

Meanwhile, Neymar is in talks to extend his stay at Santos until 2026. The Brazilian returned to his boyhood club earlier this year but his return his been plagued by injury.
